City of Charlotte is seeking an Associate Urban Forester to join the Planning, Design & Development Department. You will review residential plans for tree planting, perform field inspections, and enforce ordinances while supporting canopy policy development.

Strong communication skills and ISA certification are valued. Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in urban forestry or related field and related experience.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree in urban forestry or related field.
• One year of related work experience or equivalent education.
• Knowledge of tree species and regulatory urban forestry ordinances.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review residential plans for tree planting, preservation and protection.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure ordinance compliance.
• Issue citations and attend hearings as needed.
• Support tree canopy policy development and implementation.
• Provide courteous, public-facing customer service per standards.
