Job summary

The City of Henderson is seeking a Municipal Forester to assist in developing and managing the municipal forestry program. You will coordinate activities with Parks Operations and Maintenance to protect, inventory, and maintain trees on city property.

Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance contracts and ensuring compliance with required licenses and certifications. A four-day workweek and comprehensive benefits are offered to eligible, full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Three years municipal/urban forestry or horticulture maintenance experience.
• Two years administering maintenance contracts.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
• ISA Certified Arborist certification required at time of application.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada/ border state driver’s license.
• OSHA card required; Nevada Pesticide Applicator Certification within one year.
• ISA Certified Urban Forest Professional Certification within two years.
• All licenses/certifications must be maintained at incumbent’s expense.
