Job summary

Baltimore Green Space is seeking a Forestry Manager to lead the Community Forestry Program in Baltimore. You will oversee the Forest Network, coordinate site startup analyses, and guide stewardship planning with communities of color and underresourced areas.

Responsibilities include research, reporting, training a small team of interns, and managing field operations while collaborating with scientists and partners to advance urban forest health.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or minimum 3 years in urban forest ecology, environmental science, community outreach, or organizing.
• Experience with GIS, LiDAR and city planning databases.
• Data management and database design experience.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack and Salesforce CRM.
• Willingness to work some nights and weekends; has reliable transportation.
• Experience with community gardening or event planning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Forest Network and oversee all program activities.
• Facilitate startup analyses and annual stewardship planning.
• Provide ongoing technical assistance and engage neighbors in forest care.
• Coordinate with partners on grants, reporting, and research projects.
• Recruit, train, and supervise Forest Fellows and interns.
• Maintain equipment, educational materials, and data records.
