Job summary

Elmwood Village Charter School seeks an Elementary General Education Teacher to deliver differentiated literacy and math instruction aligned with New York State standards. The role emphasizes a positive, inclusive classroom culture and data-driven planning to support student growth.

The teacher will collaborate with instructional coaches, ENL and SPED staff, and families to ensure all students reach their potential in a diverse urban setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• NY State Teaching Certification (Initial or Professional) in Childhood or Early Childhood Education.
• Experience in urban or charter settings valued.
• Strong collaboration and communication with families and colleagues.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student agency.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver core subject instruction aligned with NYS standards.
• Implement Responsive Classroom to build a positive classroom culture.
• Use formal and informal assessments to monitor progress and inform instruction.
• Collaborate with coaches, ENL, SPED staff, and interventionists to support students.
