Job summary

Elmwood Village Charter School in Buffalo, NY is seeking a dynamic Elementary Spanish Teacher to join our diverse K–8 program. The role emphasizes rigorous instruction, culturally responsive teaching, and a commitment to student growth within a welcoming community.

You will collaborate with classroom teachers, differentiate for learners with IEPs and ELLs, and contribute to school-wide events. A NYS teaching certificate and a bachelor's degree are required; a master's is preferred.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid New York State Teaching Certification (e.g., Literacy Specialist, ENL, Visual Arts, Music, PE, Library Media Specialist, Dance, or Spanish/World Languages).
• Experience with elementary or middle school-aged students in urban settings is valued.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and ability to work in a team-oriented school environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement a standards-aligned Spanish curriculum for K–8 students.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including IEPs and English Language Learners.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate interdisciplinary themes into the content area.
• Assess student progress and provide growth-oriented feedback to students and families.
• Participate in PLCs and professional development activities.
