Job summary

Freedom Preparatory Academy seeks elementary teachers for its growing network of charter schools in Memphis. As a teacher, you will introduce and help students develop mastery of concepts, assessed throughout the year, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure cross-curricular and thematic alignment of curriculum.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) and Tennessee teaching licensure or eligibility; 2–4 years urban teaching experience; strong computer skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for teaching role.
• Master's degree strongly preferred.
• Tennessee teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
• Reciprocity licenses with TN acceptable for clearance.
• Enrollment in certification program or eligibility for licensure.
• Two to four years of urban teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support student development across social, emotional, physical, and intellectual domains.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Create and maintain positive classroom culture and community.
• Plan lessons, develop curriculum, and prepare assignments aligned to priorities.
• Analyze detailed data on student performance to inform practices.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district regulations.
• Collaborate with Head of School and leaders to strategize for all students' success.
• Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by school leadership.
