Job summary

Freedom Preparatory Academy seeks an elementary school Physical Education teacher for our growing charter network. You will introduce and develop mastery of core concepts through diverse instructional methods and regular assessments.

Collaboration with colleagues ensures cross-curricular alignment and focused student growth. The role requires a Tennessee teaching license or reciprocity, and two to four years of urban teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Master’s Degree strongly preferred
• Valid Tennessee teaching license and endorsement(s) in the hired content area -OR- Valid teaching license from a state with TN reciprocity -OR- Enrollment in a certification program with eligibility for licensure
• Two to four years of urban teaching and educational leadership experience preferred
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Hones teaching skills through collaboration with colleagues and professional development
• Uses data analysis of student performance to inform instruction and strategy
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district regulations
• Works extended school day for collaboration with parents and staff
• Develops and implements strategies with school leadership to support student success
• Performs other tasks as assigned by school leadership
