Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in urban public school or charter setting.
• Ability to maintain effective classroom management.
• Second language proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.
• Bilingual candidates and candidates of color strongly encouraged to apply.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructions according to lesson plans or create lesson plans in the absence of a prepared lesson.
• Uphold all District policies, rules and procedures to which all teachers are subject.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Assist the teacher with daily routines, including distributing/collecting supplies, attendance, lunch/recess.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times in classroom, school site and community.
• Present material using varied approaches, techniques, and media aids to stimulate interest and curiosity.
• Perform other related duties as requested by the Teacher/Principal.
