Job summary

Huitt-Zollars, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Civil Engineering Staff/EIT to work with a Professional Engineer on urban development projects, including single-family, multi-family residential, and commercial site work.

Responsibilities include drawing/plan preparation for water, sewer, paving, grading and drainage, with a focus on quality in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a BSCE, EIT or progress toward EIT, and 1+ year of civil engineering experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
• 1+ years of related civil engineering experience.
• Fundamentals of Engineering exam or current EIT certification is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
• Ability to use AutoCAD and Civil 3D for design and construction plans.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Design experience with underground utilities, paving, grading, and utilities.
• Experience producing accurate construction plans and reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction plans for private and public development projects.
• Assist civil design team and project managers with land development design and engineering services.
• Research materials and assemblies for design and construction drawings.
• Assist with site visits, change orders, RFIs, shop drawings, and punch lists.
• Assist with fee proposal research and learn proposal preparation.
• Create and format graphics for presentations and documents.
• Prepare due diligence reports for prospective projects.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and opinions of probable construction cost.
