Qualifications

• Master's degree in forest science or closely aligned discipline.

• Licenses/certifications: Illinois pesticide applicator license or ability to acquire, advanced chainsaw training, certified arborist.

Responsibilities

• Develop an innovative Extension Program focused on urban and community forestry and evaluate its curriculum and impact.
• Provide outreach, education, training, and technical guidance to key constituencies.
• Lead or co-lead forestry conferences, trainings, and field days; publish bulletins, videos, and articles.
• Maintain Extension Forestry websites and social media; collaborate with other units and state organizations.
• Obtain funding and lead research in urban and community forestry; supervise interns and conduct industry-relevant research.
