Job summary

UW-Stevens Point’s College of Natural Resources seeks an experienced forestry leader to serve as Director of the Wisconsin Forestry Center and a tenure-track forestry professor. This full-time, 12-month appointment combines strategic leadership, applied research, Extension outreach, grant development, and undergraduate teaching.

Salary ranges from $88,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications, with relocation assistance potentially available.

Qualifications

• PhD in forestry or closely related field.
• Strong leadership and program management experience.
• Experience in research, extension, and grant development.

Responsibilities

• Lead Wisconsin Forestry Center programs, personnel, budgets, facilities, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and secure external funding for forestry research and outreach.
• Build partnerships with forestry professionals and stakeholders across Wisconsin and beyond.
• Lead innovative Extension, workforce development, and community outreach programs.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Teach up to 2 undergraduate courses per academic year.
• Represent UW-Stevens Point and Extension Forestry at state, regional, and national levels.
