Job summary

Intrepid Travel is seeking a part-time seasonal Tour Leader for New Orleans. You will guide travellers, share local culture, and ensure authentic, sustainable experiences that reflect Intrepid’s Responsible Travel philosophy.

Requirements include strong English communication, customer service experience, and ability to manage budgets with a friendly, energetic approach. Flexible hours and a commitment to inclusivity are valued.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service experience and ability to build rapport with a broad range of travellers.

Responsibilities

• Lead tours in New Orleans and ensure a high-quality customer experience.
• Engage with travellers, share local culture, and provide problem-solving support.
• Manage trip logistics, budgeting, and money handling.
• Maintain safety and respond to emergencies with First Aid/CPR awareness.

Our travellers don’t just see the sights; they experience the city like a local.

This is a part-time seasonal role in New Orleans. The hourly wage is $24.50 USD plus gratuities.

To be considered you may also have:

• Excellent communication in English and ideally one other local language (the more the better!)
• Strong customer service experience and experience in developing a rapport with a broad range of traveller's
• Ability to manage trip budget and handle sums of money
• Map reading skills and a good sense of direction

Additional Skills & Attributes:

• A willingness to work flexible hours according to the groups needs
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates recommended
