Oregon State University is seeking part-time Upward Bound tutors to support high school students across six sites in Oregon. Tutors work up to 10 hours per week, delivering math, science, and English/writing guidance in individual or small-group settings.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a high school or college program and have strong communication and teamwork skills. Prior TRIO or tutoring experience is a plus; the role emphasizes mentorship and academic readiness for postsecondary success.

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
• High school students, undergraduates, or graduates may apply depending on site policy and term requirements.
• Preference for prior experience in TRIO programs or tutoring roles if available.

Responsabilités

• Provide individual and small-group tutoring in math, science, and English/writing.
• Assist with understanding course concepts and developing study strategies.
• Mentor students and model positive academic behaviors.
• Coordinate with program staff regarding student progress and needs.
• Chaperone activities and assist with program events as assigned.
• Support student engagement and postsecondary preparation.
