Job summary

The Research Foundation for SUNY seeks a Facilities UPW/WWT Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and operational support for Ultra-Pure Water and Wastewater Treatment systems at the Albany campus. The role requires independent work within a team and ongoing documentation of maintenance activities.

Night shift is Wednesday through Friday, every other Saturday, 7pm to 7:30am, with a 15% shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5–7 years of mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent technical training.
• Experience with UPW/WWT systems is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and maintain detailed records using MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on UPW/WWT systems.
• Operate, test, and repair treatment equipment to meet purity and quality standards.
• Assist with start-up, shut-down, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and reports with MS Office and CMMS software.
• Communicate effectively and work as part of a team, with ability to work independently.
