Job summary

Volvo Group in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Commodity Buyer to manage QDCFTSR with suppliers in the Cab Interior & Exterior segment. You will ensure segment business plan is implemented through supplier selection and ongoing performance monitoring.

You will collaborate with the global supply chain, use VPS toolbox to drive efficiency, and help achieve Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Risk targets while aligning with the North America team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of strategic purchasing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance, enhanced product quality, innovative technology, and maximum value.
  • Drive negotiations and executive agreements with suppliers within the Cab Interior & Exterior segment.
  • Contribute to segment business plan and be an active member in the global network of Buyers.
  • Collaborate with other members of the global supply chain to develop and execute global supply chain and technology strategies.
  • Use Volvo Production System (VPS) toolbox to drive efficiency across the supply chain.
  • Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management targets (QDCFTSR).
  • Monitor, identify, and mitigate risks in cooperation with the Supply Network Quality (SNQ) team.
  • Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility.
  • Manage and negotiate product/process changes during production phase and after production phase for Revenue segments.

What You Will Do
This Commodity Buyer is accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) of suppliers within the Cab Interior & Exterior segment (e.g. hoods, cabinets, roofs,seats, fire extinguishers, etc.). You will be responsible for making sure that the segment business plan isimplemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCFTSRperformance by using the tools and purchasing/cross-functional network during production and after productionfor Revenue segments.
This position will be based out of Greensboro, NC and will report to the Head of Uptime Purchasing North America.

Who are you?
  • 3+ years of strategic purchasing experience (e.g. contracts, supplier negotiations, sourcing, etc.)
  • Experience within the manufacturing industry
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen, agile in way of working
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field, or equivalent working experience

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $72,590.00 - $89,670.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
