Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Omaha, NE is seeking an Upstream Processing Technician for the Animal Health facility. Join a team expanding vaccine and biologics production, working with cell culture, filling, and packaging technologies under established SOPs.

Role requires operating equipment, adhering to 5S standards, and leading Tier 1 processes. Comprehensive benefits and annual bonus offered. Position is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of cGMP and inventory concepts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality by following standards and procedures.
• Perform sterile operations per SPPs and SOPs with proper documentation.
• Prepare cell cultures and manage large-scale processes.
• Sanitize areas and equipment; maintain clean facilities.
• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment as needed.
• Perform SAP transactions (goods issuing/receipt) and manage batch records.
• Provide leadership for Tier 1 process and supervise area Technicians.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping in the area.
• Wear aseptic gowning and PPE as required.
• Review area batch records daily and ensure compliance.
