Job summary

Eurofins Scientific is seeking an Upstream Process Development Scientist (Sunday-Thursday) to lead development, optimization, and scale-up of upstream bioprocesses for biologics, vaccines, or related products. The role collaborates with Manufacturing, Analytical Sciences, and Quality to ensure robust processes and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will design studies, analyze data, and drive process improvements, with a focus on cell culture and bioreactor operations.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivation and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, optimize, and scale upstream bioprocesses (cell culture, bioreactor operations).
  • Plan and execute studies to improve growth, productivity, and product quality.
  • Analyze data and identify critical process parameters for scale-up and tech transfer.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Analytical Sciences, Quality, and Process Engineering.
  • Author/review study protocols, reports, SOPs, and regulatory documents.
  • Troubleshoot deviations and implement corrective actions; support continuous improvement.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
