Hotel Nikko San Francisco is seeking a professional, high-energy bartender to serve classic cocktails and new beverages to guests. You will greet guests, learn preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, prepare and serve beverages and food, and upsell items.

Role requires knowledge of beverage products, fluent English, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of previous bartending experience.
• Must meet state legal age requirements.
• All candidates must be fluent in verbal and written English
• Excellent knowledge of all beverage products
• Previous point of sale system experience preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and promote house drinks; upsell to maximize revenues.
• Prepare beverages per recipes; maintain pouring standards; coordinate with kitchen.
• Monitor alcohol service; report over-consumption to management.
• Provide professional, friendly service.
• Advise guests on beverage list and promotions.
• Know beverage menu, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies; assist with inventory.
• Set up bar with supplies; perform pre- and post-shift side-work.
• Other duties as assigned.
