Job summary

Choice Hotels International is seeking a Busser/Attendant/Server Assistant in Chicago to support dining operations with courteous, efficient service. You will buss tables, assist servers, and help ensure a smooth, welcoming guest experience across bar, dining room, and private areas.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, clearing and resetting tables, and coordinating with servers and host staff to maintain seating and service flow.

Qualifications

• Experience in similar position within an upscale restaurant environment is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess a team spirited attitude and a willingness to help.
• Ability to effectively communicate with department managers, team members and guests.
• Ability to retain and give general hotel information.
• Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain service area assignment(s) at the beginning of each shift and work across bar/lounge, dining room, private party areas and storage areas.
• Greet guests promptly as seated and bring water to table.
• Clear tables between courses and provide tableware for next course.
• Clear, wash and reset tables, chairs and booths as needed.
• Assist servers with food delivery, especially during peak periods and large parties.
• Thank guests as they are leaving and maintain a hospitable atmosphere.
