Job summary

Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago is seeking a busser to warmly welcome guests, assist in seating, and ensure timely delivery and service of food and beverages. The role includes clearing and resetting tables, serving bread and water, and supporting servers during peak periods.

Responsibilities cover maintaining table settings, relaying guest requests, and upholding health regulations. The position requires punctuality, proper uniform, and teamwork within hotel operations.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
• The ability to follow payroll and key sign out procedures.
• The ability to offer any assistance possible to guests.
• The ability to respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation.
• The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
• Comply with TIHTC work rules and standards per the associate handbook and as directed by management.
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
• Have working knowledge of the predominant language(s) of our guests.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work on time, in proper uniform and complies with company policy regarding absenteeism and tardiness.
• Attends all colleague meetings and reads the bulletin board daily for important notices and information, checks schedule daily.
• Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
• Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring bread, butter and water to table.
• Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
• Clear tables after guests. Take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
• Between seating promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check the floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
• Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
• Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
• Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
• Thank guests as they are leaving
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
• Adheres to and observes all local and state health department laws and regulations regarding safe handling and serving of food.
• Duties may include functioning as a food runner and/or buffet runner as required or requested by manager or supervisor.
