Job summary

The Padre Hotel in Bakersfield is hiring experienced prep cooks and line cooks for a part-time role in our downtown boutique hotel’s fine dining restaurant. You will read tickets, prep items, and coordinate with servers to deliver quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.

We seek individuals with at least 1 year in upscale casual dining, strong multitasking, and a positive attitude. Flexible scheduling is available to reflect business needs. Rate of pay is $20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in upscale casual restaurant environment.
• Culinary school experience preferred.
• Able to read food tickets and prepare food to standards.
• Maintain sanitation and health code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and coordinate with servers to ensure quality service.
• Prep work: prepare recipes and maintain appropriate food quantities.
• Keep kitchens and commissaries clean and organized; managers must sign out at day end.
• Maintain par lists, waste logs, and requisition forms per management standards.
• Assist servers to expedite food and support other restaurant areas as needed.
• Ensure menus are used according to company policies.
