Job summary

Loews Philadelphia Hotel is seeking a Barback to support the Bartenders and Beverage service in a high-volume, upscale hotel environment. You will stock service areas, assist with beverage service, and help maintain clean, organized workspaces throughout the shift.

Role emphasizes guest service, knowledge of wines and spirits, and adherence to safety and service standards. Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required, with opportunities to grow within the beverage program.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of wine and spirits and food.
• Polite, friendly and helpful to guests, management and fellow employees.
• Exceptional guest service skills.
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift items up to 50 pounds repetitively during shift.
• Certifications: Certified Food Service Manager (CFSM), TIPS or equivalent.
• Effective leadership, management, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to speak, read and write English.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to the Bartender and Beverage Server by stocking service areas and supplies, assisting with service of beverages, and transporting food trays.
• Participates in monthly inventories and maintains supplies.
• Inspects and prepares service ware; cleans and stocks glassware.
• Assist servers during high volume periods and returns stock to storage after shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions of lounge and service areas; perform closing duties and side work.
• Record guest orders accurately and monitor guest consumption for safety.
