Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division in Raleigh, NC seeks a Battery Systems Validation Engineering Technician II to support testing, debugging, and validation of lithium-ion and lead-acid battery systems used with 3-phase UPS products.

You will assemble and configure cabinets and components, run diverse tests, troubleshoot BMS and communications, and document results while adhering to safety and energized-work procedures in a lab setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience with electrical power systems, batteries, UPS, or related role.
• Ability to work near energized hazards with arc-flash PPE and safe-work procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, inspect, configure, and commission UPS battery cabinets and components.
• Execute charge/discharge, runtime, functional, thermal, and commissioning tests.
• Configure Battery Management Systems and troubleshoot Modbus, CANBus, Ethernet, RS-485.
• Use test equipment and data-acquisition systems to record results and reports.
• Troubleshoot battery modules, BMS, controls, sensors, and UPS integration.
• Perform authorized energized work with PPE and safe-work boundaries in lab.
