Kent Place School is seeking a mathematics teacher to inspire upper school girls to develop their interests in math and pursue futures in STEM fields. We seek individuals who enjoy collaboration with colleagues, demonstrate the personal initiative to innovate in their teaching practice, demonstrate commitment to inspiring students within classroom practice and curricular development, and who are interested in growing as a teacher and teacher-leader. Candidates should have a keen interest in using math to investigate and answer interdisciplinary questions in both the natural and social sciences. The candidate would join a math department committed to inquiry-based learning and the use of assessment to develop girls' love of learning, confidence, and mathematical proficiency.
Responsibilities will also include advising a group of students, facilitating upper school activities, and participating in community events. Experience with curriculum writing and teaching in an integrated math sequence at the high school level is a plus. Master's degree in a related academic field or in teaching preferred, and the ability to teach different math courses with an emphasis on differentiated instruction are desired.
