Job summary

Friends’ Central School is seeking a maternity leave substitute math teacher for the Upper School (grades 9-12) to begin mid-October 2026 through early March 2027. The role focuses on Algebra II and related math courses, with a commitment to supporting Upper School students and collaborating with faculty.

The supervisor will be Lee Payton, Upper School Principal. A 4-year degree in mathematics and several years of teaching experience are preferred to contribute to a rigorous, values-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related fields is required.
• Experience teaching a range of math courses, including Algebra II.
• 3–5 years of teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be an enthusiastic teacher and supportive guide for Upper School students.
• Develop and coordinate math curricula with other faculty.
• Determine learning goals and design coherent instruction and assessment.
• Collaborate with parents to support student learning.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
