Job summary

Convent of the Sacred Heart, New York City's oldest independent school for girls, invites applications for an Upper School History Teacher. This full-time role reports to the Head of the Upper School and the History & Social Sciences Department Chair, with a salary range of $67,500 to $100,000 annually and an immediate start date.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s in history, bring a passion for teaching high school students, and demonstrate expertise in blended learning,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in history and passion for teaching high school students.
• Experience teaching secondary history; Atlantic world history preferred.
• Interest in interdisciplinary study and teaching assets.
• Proficiency with educational technology and blended learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support for students outside of class time (answering homework questions, advising on writing, etc.).
• Collaborate on innovative curriculum development, project-based learning, and assessment.
• Attend department and faculty meetings to contribute to department goals.
• Act as an advisor for 8 to 10 Upper School students.
• Engage in school life with additional duties such as coaching or club supervision.
