We are looking for passionate educators to join our community who know how to support middle school students and are committed to teaching the whole child. The ideal history teacher engages in inquiry‑based pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning while understanding differentiated instruction. We seek teachers who have the flexibility to teach any middle school history‑level course, understand the importance of developing student research and writing skills, and value working in a highly collaborative teaching and learning environment. Candidates should be comfortable working with students with a range of academic capabilities and be open to their own continued professional growth. We seek individuals who support the school’s Mission and its Precepts and Principles. St. John’s School seeks individuals passionate about teaching and learning who are excited by collaborating with colleagues and supporting students’ intellectual curiosity and social‑emotional development. We are interested in supporting faculty who see themselves as lifelong learners interested in innovation in curriculum and who model a love of history for our students. We expect community members to engage in conversations that support ongoing professional development in their disciplines, embrace interdisciplinary opportunities, and help further our school’s strategic initiatives, including community and inclusion.
