Job summary

Stryker is seeking an Upper Extremities Sales Associate to learn the medical device industry and contribute to territory growth. You will support sales calls, cover cases, promote products, build inventory, and help move customers toward adopting Stryker solutions.

After training, you will tailor the promotional message for each customer, identify opportunities, and work with the Sales Representatives to meet and exceed targets. Travel and hospital-based engagements are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required with relevant professional experience.
• Associate’s degree or medical certification plus 2+ years in related field.
• High school diploma with 4+ years of professional/related experience.
• 4+ years of active duty military service preferred.

Overview

Stryker — Upper Extremities Sales Associate

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with Sales Representatives to learn the medical device industry and the Upper Extremities business, contribute to growth in the assigned territory, support sales calls, cover cases, promote products in assigned accounts, build sets, manage inventory, and progress toward converting customers to Stryker.

• Attend surgeries where Stryker Upper Extremities products are used to ensure product availability and to instruct surgeons regarding product use and functionality.

• Educate and inform doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff about proper use and maintenance of Stryker products, product functionality and updates, changes to the product portfolio, and educational programs.

• Work with sales teams to contact customers, identify sales opportunities, deliver excellent customer service, and develop customer relationships.

• Identify needs of new prospects with the assigned Sales Representative and develop appropriate responses.

• After extensive product training, tailor Stryker’s promotional message based on customer knowledge, advise on product selection, answer questions about functionality, and differentiate Stryker products from competitors.

• Perform field calls for the account(s) and assigned territory.

• Assist in implementing new sales plans and marketing strategies to position the organization competitively; partner with the Sales Representative to meet and exceed business targets (quotas).

• Serve as the primary backup contact for Sales Representatives; acquire a basic understanding of the field, including regulatory compliance, and adhere to guidelines.

• Assist in resolving problems or questions in accounts.

• Partner with Sales Representatives on inventory management and building proper inventory levels and sets to meet customer needs.

• Assist and partner with Sales Representatives in acquiring and processing Customer Purchase Orders (POs) for proper invoicing; maintain training in sales skills and products.

• Market the product line to customers based on knowledge of functionality and differentiators; remain current on industry, customer, and competitive trends.

• Participate in and attend sales meetings and professional association meetings outside of regular business hours.

• Adhere to compliance and the principles of responsibility (AdvaMed) by maintaining privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting organizational assets, acting ethically, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to laws, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree OR

• Associate’s degree or Medical Certification (e.g., CST, PT, CPT) plus at least 2 years of professional or related experience

• High School Diploma plus at least 4 years of professional or related experience

• 4+ years of active duty military service

Pay and Benefits

$65,000 salary and may be eligible to earn commissions and/or bonuses plus benefits.
