Job Description

As a KIPP KC Public Schools Teacher, your core responsibilities include:

Instructional Delivery and Assessment

• Develop or adapt year-long Missouri State standards-based (or other curriculum-based), backwards-planned unit plans and lesson plans that meet all students’ learning needs.
• Use assessment data to modify short- and long-term plans to promote all students’ academic performance.
• Embrace and incorporate feedback to foster continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate records, grade books, and data tracking systems.

Academic and Cultural Support

• Take personal responsibility for student achievement.
• Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote critical thinking and academic rigor.
• Build and maintain trusting, respectful relationships with students and families.
• Participate in daily school functions such as supervisory duties during morning, lunch, and afternoon periods.
• Attend key school events like staff meetings, open houses, and parent conferences.
• Meet professional obligations including punctuality and meeting deadlines.
• Exemplify the school’s cultural expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
