Job summary

Hampton City Schools is seeking an Elementary Associate Teacher for 4th/5th grade to join a collaborative team. The position is 10 months long, full-time, and starts immediately, with licensure progress supported by the district.

External candidates must have a Bachelor's degree. Reimbursement for licensure requirements is available as the division supports professional growth and certification progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for external candidates.
• Successful experience working with students in a classroom setting is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Have knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment; licensure progress required.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements an instructional program that provides appropriate learning experiences for each student.
• Collaborates within a professional learning community to nurture and sustain a positive school culture.
• Assesses student achievement and maintains documentation for reporting.
• Manages student behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Coordinates instructional activities and collaborates with staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• Performs professional development activities and participates in staff meetings as required.
• Communicates with parents to keep them informed of progress.
• Maintains effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
