Ōnin Staffing in Clayton, NC is seeking an experienced Sewing Machine Operator with upholstery sewing expertise to operate industrial sewing machines and produce high-quality furniture covers. You will follow written instructions, meet production goals, and work in a loud manufacturing environment wearing PPE.

The role requires at least 3 years of upholstery sewing experience, ability to thread machines, and the stamina to perform repetitive tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of upholstery sewing experience.
• Experience operating industrial sewing machines, including single stitch, double stitch, serge, and tunnel tie machines.
• Ability to thread sewing machines and make basic adjustments.
• Ability to sew fabric, leather, and vinyl materials.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a production environment.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including sitting, reaching, bending, and operating foot pedals.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 lbs and occasionally over 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment.
• Must wear required PPE, including safety glasses and steel-toe shoes.

Responsabilités

• Sew fabric, leather, and vinyl covers for chairs, sofas, and loveseats.
• Match and assemble pre-cut materials using appropriate stitching techniques.
• Operate industrial sewing machines to produce quality finished products.
• Follow written instructions and production guidelines.
• Maintain quality standards while meeting production efficiency goals.
• Sew at least 25% of product styles at 90% or greater efficiency.
• Follow instructions from the Lead Sewer and Sewing Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
