Job summary

ForestSource is seeking a dedicated Upholstery - Recliners associate to build and finish inside upholstery on recliner frames according to our specifications. You will read production tickets and apply upholstery techniques to ensure quality craftsmanship and a finished product that meets production standards.

This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow design guidelines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and physical stamina (standing up to 9 hours, lifting up to 50

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and ability to follow design and construction guidelines.
• Experience reading production tickets and applying upholstery techniques (flow matching, center lines, carry-throughs, four-way lineups).
• Ability to read and interpret production instructions and maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply fabric to recliner components and upholster chairs/sofas to meet production needs.
• Sew seats to frames, make cuts, apply cotton and borders.
• Apply foam and cotton to arms, cut and apply fabric, and add borders as needed; accommodate arm styles.
• Align fabric on backs, maintain straight grain and consistent appearance.

POSITION: Upholstery - Recliners

JOB DESCRIPTION

Work requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow design and construction guidelines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

A recliner line upholsterer is responsible for building and completing inside upholstery on frames according to company specifications, ensuring quality craftsmanship, proper fit, and a finished appearance that meets production standards.

They will read and interpret production tickets while applying upholstery techniques including flow matching, center lines, carry-throughs, and four-way lineups. They will upholster seats by sewing to frames, making cuts, and applying cotton and borders. They will upholster arms by applying foam, cotton, fabric, and borders on various arm styles. They will upholster backs by aligning fabric patterns and maintaining straight grain. They will ensure finished products meet quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow design and construction guidelines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Applying fabric to all components of the recliner frame and upholstering chairs and sofas as needed to support production demands.
• Sewing seats to frame, making cuts, applying cotton, applying borders
• Apply foam and cotton to areas on frame arms, making proper cuts and applying fabric to arms, apply borders as needed, band different kinds of arms (sock, track, panel border arm)
• Apply fabric to back of frame aligning stripes, keeping grain of fabric straight.

EDUCATION

High School Graduate or equivalent (preferred)

PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

In a typical day, employee will spend up to 9 hours standing and up to 30 minutes walking.

In a typical work day, the employee will be asked to bend, stoop, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, balance, crawl or crouch, and may be asked to lift up to 50 pounds.

Employees must use their hands to operate air staplers and to pull and/or stretch fabrics while stapling with the other hand.

Employees must have precise manual dexterity.
