Job summary

Avalon & Tahoe MFG, Inc. is seeking an upholstery laborer to fabricate furniture by upholstering wood and foam cores and moving finished items to staging areas before line assembly.

The role supports fabricators and the assembly line, requiring attention to safety, accurate measurements, and the ability to read drawings. Expect a fast-paced, team-based environment with potential extended hours.

Qualifications

• Follows all pre-established installation and quality methods, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency of work.
• Reads order-specific job travelers and/or engineered drawings to ensure each order is produced to specifications.
• Uses various hand tools, stapler, and industrial steamer to complete furniture pieces.
• Completes all job duties within given time constraints.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Cross-trains between several different jobs.
• Cleans and maintains work area.
• Pursues continuous improvement to improve efficiency of job duties and work flow

Description

Job Summary: The upholstery laborer fabricates various furniture pieces by pulling vinyl upholstery pieces over pre-assembled wood and foam furniture cores. The completed furniture is then placed in a staging area to be taken to the assembly line. The upholsterers support the furniture fabricators and the assembly line.
