Job summary

Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc. seeks an upholsterer for furniture manufacturing to construct or repair upholstered pieces by covering frames with leather, cotton or suede. The role is hands-on and production‑line oriented, requiring accuracy and a focus on quality.

You will attach fabric to arms, backs and cushions using a staple gun, stand all day, and occasionally lift 80–100 pounds. A team mindset and adherence to safety procedures are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 6 months or more of experience working as an upholsterer in a production setting
• Ability to work well in a team oriented environment
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

• Attaches fabric/leather to the arms, backs, seats and outside backs to wooden frames using a compressed air staple gun
• This job requires continuous stapling with one hand while pulling the material with the other hand to complete the sofa, loveseat, chair or ottoman according to specifications
• Physical requirements are standing all day, bending, occasionally may have to lift 80 to 100 pounds
• Follow all safety procedures while performing the position
