Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is offering an Upholsterer position in Booneville, MS at the Sutter Street Manufacturing facility.

The role focuses on upholstering frames with fabric and components per SOP, using staple guns, scissors, and other tools, ensuring quality and productivity. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of upholstery experience in upper-end furniture production, reads production tickets, and communicates effectively in English.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of upholstery experience in upper-end furniture manufacturing.
  • Attention to detail and ability to read production tickets.
  • Ability to interpret instructions from production manual and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good written and oral English communication skills.
  • Demonstrate time management and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain pre-assembled frames and attach fabric, fiber, and components using upholstery techniques.
  • Upholster components to assembled frames per SOP using staple gun, scissors, and hammer.
  • Meet productivity standards: minimum 6 pieces/hour, goal 8 pieces/hour.

The operator will upholster fabric, fiber, and all necessary components to upholster furniture per the specifications and Standard Operating Procedures for use on the upholstery lines, at a pace sufficient to achieve stated productivity requirements.

Upholsterer Position – Booneville, MS

You’ll be excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Practice safe work practices and demonstrate safe work habits to the workforce and adhere to the Personal Protective Equipment standards of the company throughout the facility.
  • Adhere to the policies of Williams‑Sonoma while performing any duties as assigned with a positive attitude and willing spirit to assist others in the department, facility, and the organization. Always acting with professional courtesy and the highest integrity.
  • Obtain pre‑assembled frames and attach fabric, fiber, and any other specified component parts by using upholstery techniques to perform the assigned position on the upholstery line.
  • Upholster all necessary component parts to assembled frames assuring they are correct per the quality standards of Sutter Street Manufacturing using a staple gun, scissors, and a hammer (other tools may be needed) per Sutter Street’s upholstery Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Upholster pieces of furniture that meets the expected quality requirements of Sutter Street Manufacturing at a sufficient pace to meet or exceed the stated productivity requirements of a minimum of 6 pieces per hour with a goal of 8 pieces per hour.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of upholstery experience in production of upper‑end upholstered furniture manufacturing environment.
  • Pay attention to detail, can work with their hands, and have experience in reading and understanding production tickets.
  • Ability to interpret simple instructions commonly placed in a production manual and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
  • Must have good communication skills both oral and written as well as the ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Demonstrate the ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Excellent time‑management skills including ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must be able to meet the minimum stated job qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an upper‑end upholstery manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to speak English and understand Spanish.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently lift frames weighing 50‑60lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for 10‑hour periods and bend and twist at waist and knees as required to upholster furniture.
  • Ability to bend and twist as required to upholster furniture.
