Job summary

VSR Industries is seeking an upholsterer to repair and maintain felt, padding, armrests, and seating for casino gaming tables according to customer requirements.

The role involves measuring, cutting, and sewing heavy-duty textiles, installing coverings, and using hand and power tools. Candidates should have 1–3 years’ upholstery experience and be able to work full-time, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

Summary

An upholsterer repairs, recovers, and maintains felt, padding, armrest, and seating for gaming tables like poker, blackjack, and roulette according to customer requirements.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Install high-density foam, batting, and support webbing.
• Measure, cut, and stitch custom heavy-duty textiles or synthetic leather.
• Stretch out and install fabric or leather coverings.
• Attach bindings or apply solutions to edges of cut material to prevent raveling.
• Stitch, glue, and nail fabric into place.
• Operate hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
• Complete projects within scheduled timelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of professional upholstery or furniture repair experience.
• 1-3 years of use of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.
• Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.
• Will be exposed to dust, fumes, and other materials.
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods of time.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, drug screen, and credit check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to stand, walk and lift for up to 8 hours daily.
• Vision abilities requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth
• Required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.
• May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
