Job summary

Jackson Furniture Industries in Mississippi is seeking team members to assemble sofas, loveseats, and chairs. This role requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely on an assembly line in a fast-paced environment.

You will attach springs, padding, and upholstery, trim frames, and perform finishing steps under supervision. A high school diploma is preferred; prior upholstery or framing experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Prior upholstery/framing experience highly preferred.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Must perform job with safety as a top priority.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sofa, chair, or furniture frames.
• Attach spring assembly to seat and back of frame.
• Place padding and upholstery over seats and arms.
• Frame and upholstery finishing, including trimming and edges.
• Sew upholstery edges to join inside back and outside arm coverings.
• Operate tools like staple gun and glue for final assembly.

Work as an assembly team to manufacture sofas, loveseats, and chairs. This position requires manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and attention to detail to meet high-quality standards.Summary of essential job functions:Assemble sofa, chair, or furniture framesAttaches spring assembly section to seat and back of frame with clips or ties springs with twine and tacks ends of twine to framePlaces padding and covering over seat springs and tacks or staples covering to frame to complete seat upholstering, using tack hammer or powered staple gunPlaces padding and covering over inside of arms and tacks or staples covering to frame to complete inside armsPlaces layers of padding over inside back, shaping padding to specifications, and tacks or staples covering over padding to make inside backTacks or staples cardboard, padding, and upholstery material to top, side, and bottom rails of outside arms, fitting and shaping materials to obtain smooth contourTacks or staples covering material to top, bottom, and side rails of back frame, and sews upholstery covering edges to adjoining inside back and outside arm coverings with needle and thread to complete upholstery of furniture pieceTacks or staples cover to bottom rails to enclose bottom area.
