Job summary

Wabash is seeking an Upfit Technician Coordinator to support production with parts ordering, shipment tracking, and ensuring line workers have what they need. You will learn and operate required computer applications, follow engineering specs and SOPs, and uphold safety standards.

The role emphasizes precise semi-skilled manual work, adherence to safety plans, and possible overtime. This is a hands-on position in our Gary, IN area with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must have both written and verbal communication skills.
• High School degree or GED equivalent is preferred for this position.
• Good people skills required.
• Must have ability to learn and run required computer applications.
• Possess required math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Must have ability to understand and apply engineering specifications, Change Orders, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Good problem-solving skills required.
• Must have ability to operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, and manufacturing equipment, and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor to meet production goals as outlined by the supervisor.
• Perform semiskilled manual duties requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions.
• Adhere to and enforce the general safety plan.
• May be required to do other duties as requested by supervisor. Primary job functions require exercising independent judgment.
• Ensure work is performed at a quality level consistent with Wabash standard practice.
• Supervised by supervisor, general foreman, manager or department head.
• Good attendance is critical, and coordinator is required to report absences directly to supervisor.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime.
• Work towards and for a OneWabash.
• Training of new employees on safety and responsibilities thereof.

About the Role:

As a Upfit Technician Coordinator, you are tasked to work on a variety of deferent components. Activities include, but are not limited to, ordering parts, tracking down shipments, making sure the line workers have the parts that they need.
