Job summary

Wabash is seeking an Upfit Technician Coordinator in Florida to manage parts orders, track shipments, and ensure the team has the components needed to keep production moving.

The role requires advanced mechanical and 12v electrical skills with welding experience, the ability to troubleshoot with minimal supervision, and the stamina to work from scaffolding up to ten to twelve feet. The shift is first, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Advanced mechanical and 12v electrical skills with welding experience.
• Truck body or equipment manufacturing repair and ability to troubleshoot / problem solve with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• To perform a variety of semiskilled manual duties requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions.
• To adhere to and enforce the general safety plan.
• May be required to do other duties as requested.
• Primary job duty is safety of the team, the quality of the product, and the overall production goals.
• Ensures work is performed at a quality level consistent with Wabash standard practice.
• Supervised by supervisor, general foreman, manager or department head.
• Good attendance is critical, and coordinator is required to report all absences directly to supervisor.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime.
• Work towards and for a OneWabash.
• Training new employees on safety and responsibilities thereof.

About the Role:

As an Upfit Technician Coordinator, you are tasked to work on a variety of different components. Activities include, but are not limited to, ordering parts, tracking down shipments, making sure the team has the parts that they need.

Your Profile:

• Advanced mechanical and 12v electrical skills with welding experience
• Truck body or equipment manufacturing repair and ability to troubleshoot / problem solve with minimal supervision
• Capability to work off scaffolding up ten to twelve feet.
• Must have a current driver's license.

Shift: First Monday through Friday

Your Responsibilities:

• To perform a variety of semiskilled manual duties requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions.

Physical Demands:

• Requires minimum of 5 hours standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, with a full range of body mechanics/movements
• Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of stairs and climbing in and out of trucks or working in tight spaces.
• Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)
