Qualifications

• Four full-time years of verified related paid work experience as a licensed electrician in residential and commercial.

Responsibilities

• Teach lecture and lab courses in electrician
• Continuous curriculum development, including design, revisions, and assessment of learner outcomes
• Integration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learning
• Support of the success and development of students through office hours and additional resources
• Development and implementation of on-campus, online and hybrid courses
• Contribution into department decisions on budget, scheduling, textbook selection
• Participation in discipline, team, campus, and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional development
• Support and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projects

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement

• Two-year diploma in an electrician program or completion of a registered electrician apprenticeship program.

Occupational Experience Requirement

• Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a licensed electrician in residential and commercial.

Recency Requirement

• One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement

• State of Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrician License

Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)

Work hours are traditionally scheduled from 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday and may include weekends. Additional hours will be required for office hours and the completion of administrative duties.
