Job summary

HudsonManpower is seeking an experienced Unix Administrator to provide day-to-day administration and support for Unix/Linux servers in a production environment at a client location in the United States. The role is fully onsite, supporting critical business systems.

The ideal candidate will have 8–10 years of Unix/Linux administration experience, strong knowledge of major Unix/Linux OS families, scripting skills, and solid understanding of filesystems, permissions, and networking.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of Unix/Linux administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Solaris, or AIX).
• Experience with Bash or Korn shell scripting.
• Solid understanding of file systems, user management, permissions, and networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with monitoring and ticketing tools.
• Basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud environments is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in CS/IT.
• Unix/Linux certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Unix/Linux servers across production and non-production environments.
• Monitor server performance, system health, and availability.
• Manage user accounts, file systems, permissions, and access controls.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Troubleshoot system, application, and performance issues.
• Perform routine maintenance, backup verification, and capacity monitoring.
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with client and internal support teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in on-call support as required.
