Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced UNIX specialist to resolve complex issues across IBM AIX, HP-UX and Oracle Solaris in enterprise environments. You will troubleshoot storage, networking, boot and clustering problems while supporting production systems and maintaining lab environments.

Remote and on-site work options, plus periodic on-call responsibilities, offer exposure to diverse customers and scenarios. Ongoing learning, webinars, and knowledge sharing are expected as you grow expertise across

Qualifications

• Commercial UNIX experience required across IBM AIX, HP-UX, and Oracle Solaris.
• Hands-on production experience with at least two platforms (three preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in UNIX administration and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with LVM, filesystem administration (JFS/JFS2, ZFS, VxVM, SVM).
• Knowledge of high availability clustering (PowerHA/HACMP, Serviceguard) and patch management.
• Experience with boot process troubleshooting across UNIX platforms.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage (SAN, Fibre Channel, multipathing) and NFS/SMB/CIFS.
• Networking skills: TCP/IP, LDAP/AD integration, PAM, Kerberos.
• Monitoring, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Resolve advanced UNIX infrastructure issues for enterprise customers.
• Troubleshoot storage, networking, performance, boot, and clustering problems.

Requirements

• Candidates must have strong hands-on production experience with at least two of the following platforms: IBM AIX, HP-UX, Oracle Solaris
• Experience supporting all three platforms is highly preferred.
