Weber State University, a part of the Utah System of HigherEducation, is located in Ogden, Utah, in the northern part of theState at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains. The Master of Social Work (MSW) Program is part of the Department of Social Work and Gerontology and is housed in the College of Social Science and Education (the undergraduate social work program has beenaccredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1974). The MSW program employs a harm reduction framework, focusing on the development of advanced clinical social work practice skills. It gives particular attention to local and regional needs, with special emphasis on the growing Latinx community. The MSW programis evolving, has a small but dynamic faculty, and serves a studentbody from a variety of backgrounds.
