Job summary

Wheelhouse Credit Union is seeking a Universal Service Representative I Floater to support multiple branches. The role includes opening new accounts, processing teller and loan transactions, and serving as a member advocate across departments.

You will refer members to suitable products, maintain relationships, and ensure compliance with BSA and CIP requirements. Flexibility to relocate and work across locations is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ years in a financial institution performing teller/new account/operations functions preferred.
• Requires strong sales and service skills to assist members.
• Minimum six months of consumer lending experience preferred.
• Professional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in multiple departments/branches with special projects, peak periods, and vacancies.
• Open new accounts, process transactions, and fund consumer loans.
• Maintain member relationships and refer members to appropriate products and services.
• Handle account updates, revisions, and potential fraud or error resolutions.
• Stay current on laws (BSA, CIP) and adhere to confidentiality and security policies.

Description

This position will assist in various departments/branches with special projects, peak times, and vacant positions due to vacations, call outs, leave of absence or turnover. Availability to work and relocate as needed within multiple locations in any given day. The position of Universal Service Representative I Floater is responsible for procuring business for the branch by maintaining member relationships and referring members to the appropriate products and services. This role opens new accounts, processes, and funds all consumer loans, and routinely performs teller and vault transactions. This position will act as a member advocate handling account updates and/or revisions, account fraud and error resolution. This position will also remain current on all laws, rules and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) programs and processes.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent plus one (1) or more years of related experience and/or training in a financial institution performing a full range of Teller, new account, and operations functions.
2. Requires strong sales, and service skills.
3. Minimum of six months of experience in consumer lending preferred.
4. Professional and effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to address problems and situations by utilizing procedures and other resources within the organization.
6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and on-line computer core processing system.
7. Must be eligible to become an individual endorsee under the business entity license of Wheelhouse Credit Union held with the California Department of Insurance. Will be required to complete an individual application for insurance and an affidavit of training and knowledge.
8. Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships are essential.
9. Effective time management skills.
10. Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
11. Knowledge and understanding of the mission and vision of the Credit Union. Strictly adhere to the Credit Union’s policy of confidentiality, security, professional conduct and dress.
12. Support Business Development at onsite events and/or Marketing efforts within the community.
