Job summary

First Bank & Trust in Minnesota seeks a client-focused banking professional to build relationships, manage deposits and loans, and refer solutions to internal partners with the client’s best interests in mind.

You will perform teller duties, maintain cash drawer, monitor risk, and educate clients on the bank’s products while aligning daily work with branch goals and community involvement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide a superior service experience that satisfies guest needs and reflects First Bank & Trust's culture and community commitment
  • Develop, maintain and grow relationships that are profitable to the bank while managing risk; sales aptitude is a plus
  • Perform general teller duties: deposits, withdrawals, payments, negotiable items; balance cash drawer daily; report suspicious transactions; support branch hardware (ATM/TCR)
  • Anticipate client needs and advise on solutions that benefit them
  • Educate clients on the bank's products, services and processes that meet client and community needs
  • Coordinate with Retail Branch Manager to align daily work with goals; build cross-team relationships
  • Engage in community involvement and adhere to Loan Policy & Guidelines in loan origination/underwriting/closing
  • Monitor deposit and credit portfolios for quality and risk; follow up on collections as required
  • Adhere to company policies and complete required compliance training and meetings

In addition, this person will be responsible for growing and managing deposit and loan accounts while referring other solutions to internal business line partners, all with the client's best interests in mind.

Qualifications: This person should have a bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two years of related experience or the equivalent. This person should demonstrate strong communication skills through excellent verbal and written correspondence, effective listening, and responsiveness. This person should be genuinely personable, empathetic to others, collaborative, and a solutions driven problem solver.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Provide a superior service experience that not only satisfies the wants and needs of the bank's guests but provides them with a unique experience indicative of FBT's culture and commitment to the communities we serve.
  • Enthusiastically develop, maintain and growing new and existing relationships that are profitable to the bank while minimizing risk. While not required , a general understanding and aptitude for sales aids in this responsibility.
  • Perform general teller functions; including processing deposits, withdrawals, payments and negotiable items. Maintain a balanced cash drawer each day. Remain risk aware recognizing and swiftly reporting any suspicious transactions. Assist in the daily servicing of branch hardware; including ATM and/or TCR(s).
  • Anticipate needs and advise clients on solutions that personally benefit them.
  • Be an expert and educate clients in the bank's suite of products, services, and processes that meet both client and community needs.
  • Proactively seek direction from the Retail Branch Manager that assures daily work aligns with organizational goals. In addition, be persistent in building relationships and collaborating with colleagues both inside and outside of the Retail business line to meet client needs.
  • Seek and sustain community involvement.
  • Follow Loan Policy and Guidelines, when originating, underwriting, and closing consumer and business loans.
  • Monitor and maintain both the deposit and credit portfolios for quality and potential risk. If necessary, follow through on collection efforts, using all legal means as required by Loan Policy and Guidelines.
  • Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required compliance training and all meetings deemed appropriate by supervisor.

The anticipated hourly range for this role is between $28.59 and $38.60. This range is a good faith estimate for the position. The actual compensation offered to a candidate may differ based on various factors, including the individual's relevant experience, training, skills, work location, and other considerations. For those in eligible roles, we offer incentive compensation based on individual performance.
