Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of Universal Banker I and handle more complex member transactions.
  • Originate, process, close, and fund consumer loans (personal, vehicle, credit card, HELOC, mortgage).
  • Open, maintain, and service deposits, IRAs, HSAs, CDs, and related products.
  • Provide advanced digital banking support and assist with fraud resolution.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen member relationships through referrals.
  • Maintain compliance with Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements.

Professional Summary

The Universal Banker II is an experienced financial services professional who performs all responsibilities of the Universal Banker I while providing advanced member service, consumer lending, deposit account administration, and digital banking support. This position independently handles more complex member transactions, processes consumer loans, HELOCs, and mortgage loans as authorized, administers IRA and HSA accounts, assists with fraud resolution, and utilizes AI-assisted member service tools to deliver efficient, accurate, and personalized financial solutions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of the Universal Banker I.
  • Process complex teller transactions while maintaining established cash handling and balancing standards.
  • Originate, process, close, and fund consumer loans, including personal, vehicle, credit card, share-secured, HELOC, and mortgage loans as authorized.
  • Open, maintain, and service consumer deposit accounts, IRAs, HSAs, certificates of deposit, and related products.
  • Assist members with account maintenance, ownership changes, beneficiary updates, transfers, rollovers, contributions, and distributions.
  • Provide advanced digital banking support, including online and mobile banking, bill pay, mobile deposit, debit card controls, electronic statements, and self-service technologies.
  • Utilize AI-assisted member service tools to improve efficiency and enhance the member experience.
  • Assist members with fraud, identity theft, debit card disputes, and account compromise while following established procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen member relationships through referrals and appropriate financial solutions.
  • Provide contact center support and resolve complex member inquiries.
  • Cross-train and provide guidance to less experienced Universal Bankers.
  • Maintain compliance with Credit Union policies, procedures, security standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Deliver exceptional member service and strengthen member relationships.
  • Maintain operational accuracy and balance cash consistently.
  • Meet lending, referral, and service quality expectations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency across branch operations and consumer lending.
  • Support team success through cross-training, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Maintain compliance with all Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements.
Technical Skills /Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two years of banking, credit union, or related financial institution experience with teller operations, member service, and consumer and mortgage lending.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in a branch environment with frequent interaction with members in person, by telephone, and through digital channels. Occasional travel for training or branch support may be required.

Salary

Salary will be based on experience.
