Purpose of the Job

This position is responsible for performing routine branch operations and building long-term customer relationships by providing complete, efficient customer service. It involves assisting with account maintenance functions and working closely with the team to ensure high customer satisfaction. The role specializes in teller operations and opening deposit accounts.

Main Duties of the Job

1. Promptly and accurately handle customer transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing, loan payments, and maintenance requests via lobby, drive-thru, night deposit, or bank-by-mail, following Home Bank’s policies and procedures.
2. Handle cash, including counting, verifying, packaging coins and currency, balancing the cash drawer daily, and assisting with ATM balancing and replenishment.
3. Assist with daily Vault duties as needed and serve as a back-up to the Head Teller.
4. Process daily teller work through “Branch Capture,” ensuring debits and credits balance according to policies.
5. Provide prompt and efficient customer service in all transactions.
6. Engage with customers to build relationships, understand financial needs, and make recommendations.
7. Contribute to the success of the banking center by achieving referral goals.
8. Maintain knowledge of bank products and services, and utilize systems for opening deposit accounts, performing maintenance, and enrolling customers in services.
9. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and carry out instructions clearly.
10. Work independently or as part of a team with little supervision.
11. Exercise good judgment, be discreet with confidential information, and remain vigilant against fraud.
12. Mentor newly hired or promoted team members, supporting our values.
13. Keep a neat workstation and ensure supplies are organized and available.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications Needed to Succeed

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. At least 1 year of cash handling, sales, and customer service experience.
3. Previous banking experience is strongly encouraged.
4. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Availability to work banking hours, including Saturdays, with possible travel.
6. Strong knowledge of branch, vault, and ATM operations.
7. Maintain NMLS certification.
