Job summary

Texana Bank is seeking a Universal Banker to perform teller transactions, open new accounts, and cross-sell banking products while delivering prompt, friendly service in line with bank policies.

You will handle customer inquiries, balance accounts, initiate wires, issue checks and debit cards, and uphold audit and security procedures. Notary service is available if needed, and confidentiality is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• At least 1 year of customer service and cross-selling experience.
• At least 1 year of teller or cash-handling experience.
• Ability to enter numerical data on computer with speed and accuracy.
• Good mathematical aptitude to facilitate daily balancing.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and work well with others.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to prioritize and organize.

Responsibilities

• Processes transactions within established policies and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
• Ensures all audit and security policies and procedures are followed in accordance with Bank policy and Federal regulations.
• Explains various services available and assists customers in selecting these services. Opens appropriate account(s) by uncovering specific needs.
• Performs servicing duties: greets and directs customers as they enter the bank, researches customer inquiries, orders checks and/or debit cards, returns phone calls, helps customers balance their accounts, accepts and forwards wires, and maintains working knowledge of products/services for cross‑selling.
• Explains bank services and charges to customers.
• Performs a variety of other tasks, such as filing, copying, opening, and distributing mail.
• Opens or closes safety deposit boxes; assists with inventory of deceased customers’ boxes.
• Observes suspicious behavior and reports any such activity to management as appropriate. In the event of a robbery, remains calm and follows bank procedures to safeguard customers and staff.
• Provides notary public service (if needed).
• Maintains confidentiality of customer accounts and information.
• Performs other tasks as requested by management as they relate to the bank and its functions.

Job Summary

The Universal Banker is responsible for providing all teller‑based transactions and new account functions as well as cross‑selling bank products/services to new and existing customers. Must maintain and acquire knowledge of the complete line of products/services offered at the bank.
