Position: Universal Banker

The Universal Banker is responsible for a broad range of activities in the branch, including transaction processing, new account sales, customer servicing, and referral generation. Requires cross-training, and the ability to focus on both teller and platform sales tasks.

Under direct supervision of an Assistant Bank Manager, Bank Manager, or Market Manager, responsible for assisting customers with a focus on delivering exceptional service and quality with every transaction, while also learning and modeling sales behaviors to progress through the banker roadmap and certification. Perform teller transactions, service customer needs, resolve issues, and proactively recommend Associated Bank products to existing customers and prospects. Provide exceptional customer service by accurately processing customer transactions and demonstrating digital alternatives as appropriate. Responsible for completing curriculum, meeting performance milestones, and passing Banker certification for promotion eligibility. Employees may be asked to work at multiple branch locations to support flexibility and meet customer expectations.

This position requires a credit check per 12 CFR Chapter X, Part 1026, Truth in Lending, Regulation Z. Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and S.A.F.E. Act requirements. Must submit required information to meet registry requirements, obtain a unique identifier, and maintain registration as directed by the S.A.F.E. Act.

This role also involves:

  • Acquiring new and deepening existing customer relationships by initiating thorough, quality conversations to identify customer needs and matching those needs with appropriate Bank products or services. Uncovering sales opportunities requires strong understanding and execution of the Bank’s sales objectives, processes, tools, and campaigns. Effectively demonstrate and sell all customer channels. Ensure proper processing of new accounts and pursue cross-sell opportunities. Refer customers to other branch team members or business partners such as private banking, mortgage, investment services, and business banking, as appropriate.
  • Nurturing and retaining customer relationships by extending courteous welcomes and delivering accurate, timely customer service, including cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, handling loan and credit card payments, and dispensing monetary instruments. Look for opportunities to convert service activities into sales activities.
  • Answering customer questions and resolving account issues to ensure satisfaction, including over the phone and in person. Performing onboarding calls and follow-up with customers as needed.
  • Protecting the Bank’s financial interests by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations, including completing all required training and certification.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience. Required

Experience: Less than 2 years in a sales and goals-based environment with a strong customer service focus. Required

Pay range: $17.00 - $24.70 per hour.
