Job summary

Self-Help is seeking a Universal Banker for our Wilmington, CA team. The role covers consumer lending, member servicing, and cash handling in a fast-paced credit union environment.

Key responsibilities include interviewing loan applicants, opening accounts, and promoting credit union products. Candidates should have 3–5 years in banking, strong relationship skills, and a high school diploma. Travel to cover other branches may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the consumer loan process from initiation through closing, including interviewing applicants and providing disclosures.
• Greet and assist members with service needs; promote products based on member needs.
• Open consumer and business accounts per policies and handle routine teller functions.
• Balance cash drawer daily and participate in vault/teller duties within approved controls.

We are seeking a Universal Banker to join our Wilmington, CA team!

WHATYou’llDo:

CONSUMER LENDING

• Manage the entire consumer loan process from initiation through closing, including interviewing loan applicants,determiningloan eligibility, reviewing applications for accuracy, and providingtimelyandaccuratedisclosures whileoperatingwith moderate credit authority andcomplying withthe credit union’s lending policies.

MEMBER SERVICING

• Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a friendly and professional manner.

• Provide prompt,efficientandaccurateservice.

• Open consumer and business accounts according to credit union policies.

• Promote credit union products and services based onmember’sneeds.

• Perform account transactions and maintenance as authorized, including processing share deposit payments, loan payments, CD transactions, lines of credit advances, and account transfers; disbursing cash and check withdrawals, counting cash and performing reconciliations; adding joint owners, completing addresschangesand competing any other necessary teller functions.

CASH HANDLING AND BALANCING

• Open, close, and balance the cash drawer daily. Maintain drawer cash levels within prescribed amounts. Handle Vault Teller responsibilities, managing, balancing, and balancing cash flow in and out of the vault. Balance ATM daily. (Part ofdualcontrol team.)

WHATYou’llNeed:

• Spanish Fluency, verbal and written preferred

• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in banking or exposure to Consumer Lending

• Ability to form andmaintainstrong relationships with internal and external

• May berequiredto travel to cover other branches

• High school diploma or equivalent

Hourly Range: $** 26.25 - $30.43**
